"Demi-Human" (亜人 (アじん), Ajin) is a term used to define multiple intelligent species in the Goddess' World.

Background[]

Demi-humans are beings that possess both Hyuman-like intelligence and physical traits combined with animalistic or non-human features. In the Goddess' World, their appearance and abilities are between Hyumans and Monsters. Monsters are often seen as wild, instinct-driven creatures, typically existing outside civilization, while Demi-Humans are intelligent beings that can form societies, have culture, and are more human-like in their behavior and social organization.

In appearance, they could greatly differ from Hyumans like Beastmen. Wingkins and Forest Ogres have a more darkish skin, while some of them have distinct features like horns or wings too. Dwarfs and Elder Dwarfs have just their body size different from Hyumans, while Elves just have longer ears.

Most Demi-Humans where made when the Goddess was trying to experiment with making things she thought where cute as babies or animals and giving them humanoid characteristics that she usually found repulsive and shunned for being "ugly" as adults, and created a huge continent where she demands that the "unsightly need to live away from the beauty" and was called the Wasteland.

Demi-humans are more integrated into the world's societal structure. They can form alliances, trade with other races, and live in mixed societies, although there is often tension between them and Hyumans due to prejudice and historical conflicts.

Abilities[]

Abilities differs from races to races, some of them have a bias for a certain element of magic like Wingkin that are good with Wind magic or Dwarf with Earth magic. Some have better physical and magic abilities than Hyumans like Forest Ogres. Finally some have special abilities or special expertise like the Tree Punishment from the Forest Ogres or the weapons and armors crafting of Dwarfs.

Difference between them and Monsters[]

Some of you might ask, "Why Monsters like Highland Orcs or Gorgons are not Demi-Human?". It seems in the Goddess' World they are a line where one is consider a Monster or a Demi-Human and that line is drew between the Wingkin and Gorgons. Like Makoto says "Wingkin". If you had to categorize them as Monsters or Demi-Humans, they would be Demi-Humans. If Gorgons are Monsters close to being Hyumans, the winged-kin would be Hyumans close to being Monsters." WN Extra 20. This phrase seems to mean that Gorgons have too much difference with Hyuman to be consider like a Demi-Human and Wingkin just enough to not be considered a Monster. For Highland Orcs, well..., they are pigs with hair.
