He cross paths with Hibiki and her party in the Wasteland and get bonded with them despite initially being recluant.
During the Limia capital crisis, he takes a magic sword aimed at Chiya from Lancer's attacks. The sword would have changed the victim into one of Lancer's swords. Shiki notes that had Chiya been transformed, he would have lost the battle against Lancer, so was grateful to the man's sacrifice.
